Hi, I’m Sam, a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker in Massachusetts.

I work with individuals who long to feel deeply seen and understood. You may be someone who isn’t sure how to ask for what you need from other people, struggle to make boundaries, or find it hard to feel truly close to others in your life. I specialize in working with emerging adults (18+) and adults of all ages struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, and feeling stuck. I often work with queer individuals, people who have experienced childhood trauma, neurodiverse people, and caregivers.

My approach is attachment-based, trauma-informed, and relationship oriented. This means that we will explore your patterns of connection with people in your life, and explore ways to facilitate more grounded, trusting, and nourishing relationships with yourself and others.

Therapy is a powerful tool to learn to understand yourself better, feel more ease and security in your relationships, and be more aligned with your authentic self. When you’re ready to take that step, contact me here to discuss your needs and how I can help.

My approach

Relational

Being human means being connected to others. While relationships can be sites of harm, they can also be the foundation for immense healing. Building resilient, loving, interdependent relationships takes time, practice, and compassion. Together, we will pay close attention to your relationship with yourself and others to develop the tools you need for fulfilling and meaningful connections.

Creative & Collaborative

My approach to healing and therapy is creative and collaborative. Before becoming a therapist, I studied painting. Creativity and art-making are interwoven with my daily life. It’s not only healing and regulating for me, it deeply informs the work I do as a therapist. Like art-making, I see the process of healing and knowing oneself as a non-linear, generative, and a collaborative process.

LGBTQIA+ Affirming

I love working with queer individuals and parents or family members of LGBTQIA+ people. Whether you are questioning your identity, navigating the complexities of coming out, unpacking discrimination due to who you are, or simply seeking support in all aspects of your life or relationships as a queer person, psychotherapy can offer a crucial space in which to emerge into who you are.

Letters for Gender Affirming Care

I am committed to free access for all people who seek gender-affirming health care. I offer free, one-time assessments for the purpose of writing you a letter in support of receiving gender-affirming medical procedures or care. See G.A.L.A.P. for more info.

Socially Responsive

Oppression and systemic trauma play out on our bodies, in our relationships, and in our lives in different and uneven ways. Attending to these wounds is necessary for healing. I am committed to working through an anti-oppression lens. This means that I am looking at the ways racism, transphobia, homophobia, colonization, ableism, and more, have on all of our personal and collective wellbeing.
