What does a session feel like?
My practice is psychodynamically informed. This means I am listening for the deeper emotional truths that inform your inner world and create patterns in your life. In exploring these patterns together, it’s possible to create space for acceptance, transformation, and growth from stuck places.
How frequently do we meet?
I typically meet with clients on a weekly basis, but depending on the circumstances and your needs, we may meet twice weekly or biweekly. The length of our therapeutic work may vary based on your individual needs.
What is your fee?
Regular Fee: $180 per 50-minute session.
Reduced Fee: I have a limited number of reduced fee spots in my practice. Please email me directly to inquire about the availability of reduced fee spots. You can refer to Alexis J. Cunningham’s “Green Bottle” sliding scale model.
Payment is due at the time of service and can be made via credit/debit card, HSA/FSA card, check, or cash.
Do you take insurance?
Yes, I accept Blue Cross Blue Shield of Massachusetts plans.
Otherwise I am Out-of-Network with all other plans. I am happy to provide a “super-bill” (a.k.a. an itemized receipt) that you can submit to your insurance for reimbursement.
If you’re unsure of what your out-of-network benefits are, you can ask your insurance representative the following questions
“What is the maximum amount my plan will reimburse for mental health service code 90837 with a Psychotherapist, and what percentage of the maximum allowed amount will my plan pay?”
“Does my plan include out-of-network benefits for mental health care?”
“Do I have a deductible for out-of-network mental health services? If yes, what is the remaining amount I will have to pay before my health plan starts to reimburse me for fees that I pay out-of-pocket?”
How are sessions conducted?
Our sessions are conducted in-person in Downtown Northampton, Massachusetts or online via a HIPAA compliant video conferencing platform, ensuring confidentiality and security.
What is the cancellation policy?
Missed appointments without any prior notification are considered “no shows” and are charged the entirety (100%) of your session fee.
There is no cost or fee to cancel or reschedule your appointment if you provide at least 24-hour notice.
If you need to cancel, please notify me at least 24-hours prior to your appointment.
